We are a country founded on being resilient, of challenging ourselves to overcome obstacles and finding solutions. That is something that defines our nation and one that we have adopted as part of our Badgerland Disposal DNA. But being resilient when faced with difficult times is when it matters most; not when times are easy.
We are faced with a difficult question in the world, and it asks what kind of future our children will inherit. In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, racism tears apart the seams of our nation. With the recent killings of innocent lives, people are rising up. They are resilient.
Throughout the Midwest, the places we as a company call home, men and women joined forces to stand and fight for equality, so that every voice should be heard and no life treated as less than another. With hundreds of individuals that make up our Badgerland family, we stand united in the face of these difficult times. We remain resilient.
I ask you, on behalf of our company, to stay strong and make the choice to fight racism in our world. Badgerland prides itself in demonstrating corporate values that are grounded upon ensuring the safety of all people in our community; regardless of their racial background. No one should worry whether or not these values are based on the color of their skin. Though many of us struggle to make sense of these recent tragedies, and many of us look for answers, we must keep our focus on standing firm and doing what is right, not just to impact our community, but our world as a whole.
We can all enact real change by keeping the conversation open and honest as we seek solutions. I cannot tell you this is an issue we can resolve easily. We can’t. However, together we can work to shape future generations and lend ourselves to voices that go unheard.
Together, we can be resilient.
